MINISTRIES

Adult Ministries:

There are several ministries to get involved in for adults of all ages! Our goal is to be intentional, practical, and biblical. We have several Sunday School options to choose from as well as Senior Saints trips, Men’s Ministries, Women’s Ministries, and a thriving College and Career class. No matter your age or interest, we have a place for you!

Sunday School (9:30 AM)

Adult: It has often been said that Sunday School classes are the small groups of Altoona Regular Baptist Church. Sunday School provides fellowship, community, and applicable Bible teaching for all ages. We offer two classes for adults each Sunday School quarter. Our goal is for Sunday School to be engaging, interactive, and practical.

College & Career: Our College and Career class is for everyone from college freshmen to young professionals. Our goal is to practically teach and apply the truth of God’s Word through Sunday School, outside activities, and opportunities to serve the church together.

Group Ministries

Men’s Ministry: The men of Altoona Regular Baptist Church have many opportunities to minister to one another and to the community through monthly Men’s Prayer Breakfasts, our Annual Sportsman’s Banquet, work projects, and the occasional “wilderness trip”!

Women’s One Another Ministry: The women of Altoona Regular Baptist Church minister to each other through our One Another Ministry. Our One Another ministry ministers to our women and our community by hosting activities, lifting each other up in prayer, an ongoing “secret sister” program, reaching out to the community through “community baskets”, and many other ways.

Children Ministries:

The children’s ministry at ARBC is committed to teaching children the Word of God. We offer various children’s classes split into grade and age groups so as to provide an environment where children can study the Bible in an age appropriate and effective way. We believe that all children are a gift from God, and we treat them as such. All of our teachers and helpers who work with children are required to go through training before they are allowed to work with children.

Sunday

Sunday School (9:30 AM): Sunday mornings we offer many age-appropriate Sunday school classes. Sunday school often includes singing, a craft or snack, and a lesson.

  • Nursery (Newborn – 2 years old)
  • 2’s & 3’s
  • Pre Primary (Pre-K – Kindergarten)
  • Primary (1st & 2nd)
  • Middler (3rd & 4th)
  • Junior (5th & 6th)

Children’s Church (10:30 AM): Children’s church is a ministry that is run during our morning service for children between the ages of 2-5 years old. It includes songs, a Bible lesson, a snack, crafts, and games.

Kid’s Church (10:30 AM): Kids church is a more optional children’s church for children through 6th grade that is offered during our morning service. It includes a more in-depth Bible study, songs, and games.

Wednesday

Kids4Truth (6:30 PM): On Wednesday during the school year we offer a Kids4Truth program for kids ages 4-12. Kids4Truth classes, like Sunday School, are divided by age. Kids4Truth is a fun and effective way to teach children the truth of God’s Word.

Kids4Truth is set up, that as your child progresses through the four levels, he/she learns the same twelve doctrines with deeper and greater understanding by memorizing answers that include Bible verses to “top questions.” Over a two-year period, your child will play lots of fun games and will learn the answers to 60 of the most important questions ever from the Bible!

Altoona Student Ministry:

Altoona Student Ministry (ASM) is the youth ministry of Altoona Regular Baptist Church. Our name describes exactly who we are. We are in Altoona, Iowa, we are students (7th-12th grade), and we are a ministry of Altoona Regular Baptist Church.

That last word, ministry, is important. We are not here to be ministered to, but to minister. We believe that our teens are the church of today, not the church of tomorrow (1 Tim. 4:12). Therefore, we do our best not just to have fun, but to equip our young people, through the Word of God, to live for Christ. In fact, as a youth ministry, we have three distinct goals: go, grow, give.

    Meeting Times:

    • Sunday Morning: 9:30 AM
    • Wednesday Night: 7:00 PM

    Deaf Ministry:

We have a growing and thriving deaf ministry and all our services are ASL interpreted. The deaf are beloved members of our congregation and we praise the Lord for the opportunity to serve alongside them. Once a week we offer a special deaf service and a deaf Bible study on Monday nights. If you are interested in our deaf ministry or have any questions, feel free to contact us!
